Part 9 - This Moment

By Milady Hawke

My fears fall away when you kiss me again, and time holds no power over us.

For you will keep the color of my eyes when no one else remembers my name.

And when I am gone and my body has crumbled like old vellum pages falling apart in your hands, I pray to be the breeze that kisses your cheek and stirs your hair as you lie asleep in the morning, or the ray of light that illuminates your features. I would be the breath that so slightly parts your lips or the smoothly moving silk sheets that caress your body.

Yet if my longing is not to be so, still will this moment never die or fade.

In it we have found forever.
